After many requests, TendingShen
has implemented the "Practice
Visits" program: We come to your practice to
provide help with your patients. If you
are interested in this program and would like more information,

Format of a Practice Visit:
Please book your patients for 9.00 am, 10.30 am, 12.00
noon, 3.00 pm, 4.30 pm (i.e. maximum of 5 patients). There
will be a working lunch from 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm & a
working dinner from 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm, to discuss future
treatment principles for the patients seen: the evening
tutorial may be extended at Niki's sole discretion.
Normally you will be treating your patients under Niki's
supervision. She will check all point location as you go
along & give you extensive pulse/tongue/CSOE/CF feedback.
Under exceptional circumstances she may be willing to actually
treat the patient(s) herself, but in this case you must confirm
her legal status in advance if you practice in a European
country other than the UK. Niki is a member of the BAcC and
regularly practices in the UK.
You need to write up a BRIEF preface sheet for each patient
in advance, with their 'main complaint(s)', synopsis of past
treatment and, most importantly, your questions! You need
to have each patient's treatment file to hand, in case you
need to refer to it.
Costs associated with a Practice Visit:
Fee per day: £750.00. If paying by cheque,
please make it payable to Niki H. Bilton in £GBP: we can
not accept Euros. We would prefer that you give us one cheque
for the total amount on the day/final day (collecting individual
payment from patients & observers yourself). The fee of £750.00 per day is
payable regardless of how many patients arrive for treatment on any given day.
The maximum fee it is permissible to charge each patient
is £100.00. You are welcome to invite up to 5 other graduate
practitioners to observe for the day & contribute to
your costs (charged £75.00 each per day).
Deposit: If you are booking one day, we ask for a deposit of £250.00,
payable at the time of booking. If you are booking more than one day, we ask for
a deposit of £250.00 per day, payable at the time of booking.
Other responsibilities/costs:
You are responsible for providing & paying for a simple
lunch & snacks/coffee for Niki during the day & a
full evening meal/drinks (she eats anything except garlic).
You are also responsible for arranging & paying for any
necessary accommodation (Niki will happily stay with you
or be housed in a local hotel), breakfast(s), & local
transportation to/from airports, lodging & your clinic.
TendingShen covers all flights between North America and
the UK. If you practice in another European country, you
would be responsible for flight costs outbound from and then
returning to a suitable UK airport. Other expenses & costs
connected with the administration & running of the Practice
Visit days should in all instances be billed directly to & paid
for by you.
Cancellation policy: you are liable for a sum of £250.00 per day
if you cancel the Practice Visit with more than 90 days notice after booking, a
sum of £500.00 per day if you cancel the Practice Visit with 60-90 days notice,
and the full amount of £750.00 per day if you cancel with less than 60 days notice.
This policy takes account of the fact that Niki’s flights between North America
and the UK need to be booked months in advance, and changes incur heavy penalties.
General information:
Niki's schedule is normally
finalized by the beginning
of September for the following
year, so you need to schedule
your Practice Visit for 2011
ideally by the end of June
2010. Occasionally slots arise
nearer the time. There
are currently limited opportunities
for practice visits around
3rd-7th August 2010, depending
on the location of your clinic.
